Ordering & delivery: from the click to the tanker
Ordering heating oil is easier than you think, if you watch a few things. We guide you through the process.
The processWhat you should know in advance
Before you order, you need three things: the quantity in litres, your postcode (the price is regional) and the access , can the tanker get close and how long is the hose run to the tank?
Many suppliers charge extra for small amounts, long hoses or narrow access. Ask about this beforehand, then there are no surprises.
How the delivery works
- 1. Determine the amount: by tank level and consumption. Never run the tank fully empty, or the pump draws sediment.
- 2. Compare suppliers & order: check price per litre, delivery area and date.
- 3. Arrange the delivery date: in the heating season it can take longer. Someone should be reachable during filling.
- 4. Filling & receipt: the driver uses the limit sensor, you get a delivery note with the exact number of litres. Check it briefly.
Said honestly
The cheapest price per litre helps little if high surcharges are added at the end. Compare the total price including travel, hose length and small-quantity surcharge, not just the advertised price per litre. Very cheap bait offers for tiny amounts are often pricier than expected. And look for a serious, locally reachable supplier , if problems arise, that counts more than a few cents saved. We give you the facts, the decision stays with you.
