Argan oil: for skin and hair, and how to spot quality
The „liquid gold“ of Morocco is a fine care oil for dry skin and hair. We show what it can do and how to recognise a good product.
How it’s usedA rich, low-comedogenic oil
Argan oil is pressed from the kernels of the argan tree. It is rich in vitamin E and unsaturated fatty acids, absorbs reasonably well and is valued for dry, mature skin and for hair.
Its comedogenicity is considered low, so it suits many skin types.

Uses and quality
- Face & skin: a few drops on slightly damp skin, ideal for dry or mature skin.
- Hair: a small amount in the lengths and ends for shine.
- Quality: cosmetic argan oil should be pure, cold-pressed and in a dark bottle. Very cheap „argan“ products are often heavily diluted.
- Patch test before first use.
Said honestly
Argan oil is a good, pleasant care oil, but the marketing often promises miracles it cannot keep. It is care, not a treatment, and we make no health promises. Look at the ingredient list: pure argan oil (Argania spinosa) rather than a cheap blend, and a realistic price. We give you the facts, the decision stays with you.
