Clove oil: strong, spicy, to be used with care
Known from old home remedies, rich in eugenol. We sort it out honestly and safely.
To safety
What it is
Very spicy, very intense
Essential clove oil is distilled from cloves and is rich in eugenol. It smells intensely spicy and is skin-irritating when used neat. Traditionally it appears in old mouth and tooth home remedies.
That tradition does not mean that careless use is without risk.

How to use it safely
- Never neat: always dilute strongly, eugenol irritates skin and mucous membranes.
- Mouth and teeth: with dental complaints the cause belongs to the dentist, not to self-treatment with oil.
- Not for babies and toddlers: and in pregnancy only after professional advice.
- Keep away from pets: essential oils are problematic for cats.
Said honestly
Clove oil is a powerful, spicy oil with a long tradition, but it demands respect: dilute it strongly and have dental complaints checked professionally rather than masking them with oil. It is not a remedy, and we make no healing promises. We give you the facts, the decision stays with you.
