Grapeseed oil: light, neutral, versatile
A by-product of winemaking that became a popular all-rounder , for the pan and for the skin. We sort out what it can do.
How it’s usedFrom the seeds of the grape
Grapeseed oil is pressed from the seeds left over from winemaking. It is light, neutral in taste and high in linoleic acid (omega-6). Refined grapeseed oil tolerates medium to higher heat reasonably well.
In care it is valued for its light, non-greasy feel and low comedogenicity.

Two uses
- In the kitchen: neutral for dressings, dips and medium-heat cooking; refined versions take more heat.
- For the skin: light and low-comedogenic, popular for oily and combination skin and as a massage-blend base.
- Omega note: high in omega-6, so balance it with omega-3-rich oils.
- Store cool & dark.
Said honestly
Grapeseed oil is a handy, light all-rounder, but like other high-omega-6 oils it should not be the only oil you use. For skin it is pleasant and rarely clogs pores, yet it is care, not a treatment, and we make no health promises. We give you the facts, the decision stays with you.
